Brief Description

Join us for the 2nd Annual Acumen Solutions The Race for a Cause 8k and 1 Mile Fun Run. This year's race will support 12 non-profit organizations. By participating, you pick the charity you'd like to support! Each pre registered runner will receive a commemorative Nike technical shirt. There will be prizes, awards, and refreshments following the race.

Prizes

Cash Awards to the Top 3 Overall ($500-$300-$150, Male and Female) and overall Master's winners ($50) in the 8k. The Top 3 finishers in each Age Group in the 8k (under 19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over) will receive gift certificates to Potomac River Running Stores.

Non-Profit Organizations

The Acumen Solutions Race for a Cause is proud to support the following organizations this year: Bridge to Freedom, Boys and Girls Club-Alexandria-Olympic Branch, Boys and Girls Club-Fairfax, BUILD Metro DC, Child & Family Network Centers, E.L. Haynes Public Charter School, For Love of Children, Friends of Fort DuPont Ice Arena, Greenbriar Learning Center, National Fatherhood Initiative, The Women's Center, and United for DC.

Timing

The race will be chip timed and results will be available immediately following the race.

Late registration and race day registration

Late registration will be held on Friday, October 15 (4-8pm) and on Saturday, October 16 (11am-4pm) at the Potomac River Running Store in Arlington. Race day registration will be held at the store on Sunday from 6:30-7:15am.

Additional Information

The Acumen Solutions The Race for a Cause 8k starts and finishes on North Quincy Street, near the intersection of Wilson Boulevard in Arlington. The course is a fast out-and-back course along the roads of Ballston and Clarendon. The 8k is run on a USA Track & Field certified course. The one mile fun run will follow Wilson Boulevard to a turn-a-round point before heading back to the finish.
