Brief Description
Join us on Halloween for the first ever Zombie Half Marathon brought to you by the Anchorage Running Club and Skinny Raven Sports.
The Course
The race will start near the Kincaid Bunker and proceed on the Coastal and Chester Creek Trails to Goose Lake. There will be two aid stations, one at Point Woronzof (about mile 5) and another at Westchester Lagoon (about mile 9). You may want to consider carrying your own liquids and energy bars.
Parking and Return to Start Area
There is adequate parking at both the start and finish areas. Runners are encouraged to carpool to the start at the Kincaid Bunker and arrange for their own transportation from the finish area at Goose Lake back to Kincaid Park, if necessary. We will not be providing transportation from the finish back to the start.
T-Shirts, Medals, and Awards
The first 300 runners will receive black Skinny Raven Half Marathon t-shirts and finisher medals with a Zombie ribbon. Awards will be made in ten year age groups for males and females.
Bib Pickup
Bib pickup will be at Skinny Raven Sports on Thursday, October 29, 2009, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Additional Information
The race will take place regardless of weather, trail conditions, or temperature. The trail may be covered in snow and ice, so be prepared and proceed at a safe pace.
