This will be a fun, exciting event for people and dogs of all ages and abilities. The objective of the event is to benefit a select group of animal shelters and adoption agencies around the Greater Atlanta area.
This 3.1 mile Peachtree Road Race qualifier course is fast, flat and will begin and end in the parking lot of the New Balance store, making a loop including North Point Parkway, Haynes Bridge Road and Mansell Road. Participants will share roads with auto traffic but will have at least one lane (coned-off) to themselves.
The race will conclude with a post-race awards ceremony in which awards will be presented in multiple categories and age groups. Runners joined by their canine companions will be urged to enter their pets into a ‘Best Costume’ contest, in which awards will also be given out. Small children will be able to participate in a tot trot while the results of the race are tabulated. Participants will receive a commemorative long-sleeved t-shirt and race packet that will be filled with goodies. All participants, friends and family are invited to stay after the race for refreshments and activities for the entire family!
Awards will be presented to 1st Place M & F Overall as well as top three M & F finishers in each group: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over
