Brief Description

This event serves as the National Championship for American Indian/Alaska Natives and First Nations tribal members of Canada. To enter this division you must provide proof of tribal enrollment if requested. This event also serves as the New Mexico USATF State 5k Road Championship. You must have a 2012 USATF NM Association membership to be eligible for this division. The Open Community Run has no restrictions and is open to everyone.

RACE COURSE

This is a USATF sanctioned event and the course is certified and eligible for age state records. The course is a flat and fast 2 loop paved road to allow for fast times even at altitude. The course is considerd one of the fastest 5K courses at altitude with only a 13 ft elevatoin rise. The 2011 event established 3 new state age records.

Additional Information

This event will honor the following individuals: Rick Baker, Matt Henry, Mary Kirsling & Alice Kinlichee. There will be a "traditional" Pueblo throw for all participants when all the races have concluded. This event serves as a reunion/homecoming for all former SIPI runners. Other culturial events will also be presented: This event will serve a a former SIPI runners reunion and homecoming. All former SIPI runners are encouraged to attend.
