Brief Description

A virtual race means you run your favorite route on race day, and, visit the web page and log your run. Its that easy. Why race or train alone? Race against others in a global setting! We can even race with interactive fitness machines. You race up the hills and watch your competition fade. (Must contact us for this option) You pick your favorite 5k, 10k, 10 mile or Half Marathon course AND LET THE RACE BEGIN.

Tell us your best time from 4 years ago, and VIRTUALLY race yourself! (and virtually everyone else in the Nation) After your RESOLUTION RUN...after you enter your results, and after the National results are posted, you enter a PREDICTION TIME for a second race. Yup, ANOTHER race...called THE GLOBAR PREDICTION RUN. That's correct, two for the price of one! This race will be the week of St Patrick’s Day in March. You do it again and see if you can meet or beat your predicted time.

How it Works: First, register at www.active.com using the link(s) on this page. 10 days before the race your bib and shirt will be mailed to you. On race day, run the miles that you had registered for (if you registered for the 5k, you will run your 3.1 miles; 10K (6.2 miles), 10Mile (10 miles), Half Marathon (13.1 miles). Make sure to keep track of your time from the time you start to the time you finish in hours, minutes, and seconds. On race days our home page changes to a site where you enter your time. When you log on to enter your time, you will need your bib number, first and last name, time (in hours, minutes, and seconds), and the distance you ran. The day after the race, results will be tallied and posted on coolrunning.com (a link to the results will be available on our website). RESOLUTION RUN - (January 19th 2013 Race Opens...January 26th 2013 Race Closes) COMING.... THE PREDICTION RUN - March 11th (race opens) March 17th, 2013 (race closes) Awards: Mailed within 10 days after the race ends OVERALL & AGE GROUP AWARDS Awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants (male and female) in each age group and Most Improved male & female (in each age group) for the Prediction Run. Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ A few days after each race: prizes, and certificates will be mailed. In order to receive your award, you must post a time. While running your miles, we encourage you to take a picture to post on our web page!
