To promote and encourage all types of health and fitness, primarily running.
Our club thrives on volunteerism. We encourage all members to donate some of their time to help at races or other club vunctions. Volunteers earn special awards.
All memberships are one year, unless noted otherwise. Expiration will be one year from date of application. Each memberhip includes the monthly newsletter, discounts at local retail outlets and reduced fees or no charge at most club races.
Individual (1 year) $15.00, Family (1 year) $25.00, Individual (2 years) $30.00, Family (2 years) $50.00, Individual (3 years) $45.00, Family (3 years) $75.00. The prices above include sending newsletter by bulk mail rate.
If those of you who are out-of-towners and if you wish to have first class postage: Individual (1 year) $15.00 + $12.00 first class postage = $27.00. Family (1 year) $25.00 + $12.00 first class postage = $37.00. Individual (2 years) $30.00 + $24.00 first class postage = $54.00. Family (2 years) $50.00 + $24.00 first class postage = $74.00. Individual (3 years) $45.00 + $36.00 first class postage = $81.00. Family (3 years) $75.00 + $36.00 first class postage = $101.00
At the beginning of each month, all members receive the club newsletter, THE LONG RUN, includes: vital information pertaining to club, Events Calendar, health hints, entry forms.
At the annual meeting, the club elects executive officers and its board members. A total of 15 members comprise the board of directors. meetings are first Tuesday of each month at Downtown YMCA.
FALL SERIES. 4 incremental races lead runners through city parks seldom seen by others.
NIELSON CHALLENGE. 1-mile and 2-mile run enables runners to check training progress the first Saturday of each month.
WINTER SERIES. Short and long series of 4 increasingly longer races. Weather, hills and altitude keep runners intrigued. El Paso County venues.
PONY EXPRESS. Race lures runners through 15 miles of mountain trails around Rampart Reservoir
Members receive discounts at local running, sporting goods stores, yoga facilities, and at some club sponsored races.
There are nearly 1,700 members to share the pleasures of running, working or socializing.
