Anchorage Running Club activities include supporting running related efforts in the Anchorage Bowl by holding traditional and fun races; providing assistance to other running groups to hold other running events; encouraging and providing fitness training opportunities for individuals and families; and providing scholarships to high school seniors excelling in sports, academics and community activities. In addition, the ARC Oktoberfest proceeds provide two generous donations to community service organizations, Bean Café and Brother Francis Shelter. The ARC board of directors encourages all runners and walkers in the area to help support the efforts of their Anchorage Running Club by attending club meetings, communicating suggestions and concerns, and volunteering to help local running events.
