Jeff is coming to Rochester!
Jeff is going to be in Rochester for the kickoff event on March 25th. This will be a great time to be able to meet with Jeff and learn more about him and his running program. We will also be taking a short run around Silver Lake starting at about 5:30 that evening, with the kickoff event following afterwards.
Our Target Marathon
The main marathon this is targeting is the Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America - The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday, October 6, 2013. However, this training program could alternatively prepare you for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon (10/13/13), the Mankato Marathon (10/20/13) the Marine Corp Marathon (10/27/13), or even the ING New York City Marathon (11/3/13). If you are interested in a women's only race, Women Rock (8/31/13) in the Twin Cities is also an option.
Our Target Half Marathon
There are several Half Marathon options that will fit into this training plan to be run alone, or in conjunction in the plan. The first is the Med City Half Marathon (5/26/13), the Lady Speed Stick Half Marathon - Bloomington (6/16/13) (yes, men can run this event), the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon (6/22/13), the Red, White, and Boom TC Half Marathon (7/4/13), the Rochester Half Marathon (8/24/13), Women Rock Half (8/31/13), Mankato Half Marathon (10/20/13), and Monster Dash (10/26/13).
Why Train with Galloway?

I put this into practice last year for the first time when running the Athens Classic Marathon and it changed my entire outlook for the race. The training fee is non-refundable. Requests for refunds are considered for medical reasons only and must be accompanied by a physician's letter. They must be submitted prior to the half-way point in the training season. A $25 processing fee will be retained.

The weekly training schedule includes three days of running and three days of cross- training (non-running aerobic exercise like cycling, cross country skiing machines, or water running). The key to the training is the Saturday long run, when you'll be running with the a group at a comfortable pace that is appropriate for you. You'll have a group leader to help guide you, keep you motivated, and be sure you're having fun. And it works! The Galloway Program boasts a 98 percent success rate in more than 40 cities across the nation.
