Come run or walk to support Erin Pendergast, our 30 year old friend who was diagnosed with a grade IV cancerous brain tumor at 22 weeks pregnant May, 2012. Erin had surgery followed by radiation and chemotherapy. On August 14, 2012, Erin, husband Ryan, and brother Ethan welcomed Jayson to their family. Erin has been fighting this battle for over a year and is currently receiving IV chemotherapy. Erin is an inspiration to us all with her continued determination,positive attitude,and bright smile.
Packet pick up and registration at Slatterly Park Pavillion from 8am-8:45am on Saturday, Sept 21st. Event starts Saturday, September 21, 2013 @ 9:00 AM
A benefit account, "Erin Pendergast Benefit," has been created and donations can be dropped off or sent to any Think Bank in Rochester. Make checks out to "Erin Pendergast Benefit". Donations can be mailed to: Think Bank attention: Mike Arneson 221 First Ave SW Suite 101 Rochester, MN 55901. All proceeds from this event will go directly to Erin and her family.
We would love to see participants wearing one of the shirts that have been created over the past year in support of Erin, or we would encourage you to make your own if you do not have one. This year we are providing a reusable water bottle for each pre-registered adult; also provided for same day adult registration while supplies last.
The race begins near the Slatterly Park Pavilion, follows the Rochester trail system toward McQuillan Fields, and ends back at the Pavilion. Runners are encouraged to bring their own timing devices if they are interested in knowing their race time. Strollers are welcome on the run/walk, but please leave your pets, bikes, rollerblades, scooters, etc. at home. We want to keep everyone safe as we celebrate and support Erin.
Start Time Both runners and walkers will start at 9AM. We will have runners line up in the front and the walkers just behind.
