Reno Running and Fitness in conjunction with Mark Hollingworth from Caughlin Club will be offering a 10 week speedwork training session (Wed. Feb.27 - Wed. May 1) that will focus on improving strength, speed, and running form. The first 3 weeks will be on hills and then moving to the track. This program is appropriate for individuals working on speed from 5k to ultramarathon distance.
The 10 week session will meet at 6:00 p.m. at the trailhead located at Woodchuck and Plateau and will run outdoors with a focus on hill running, form and efficiency. Weeks 4-10 will meet at Reno High School track to focus on speed. Coach Mark Hollingsworth is an accomplished runner, ultramarathoner and Ironman athlete. He has specialized training in working with runners and having them meet their training goals. Each participant will receive personalized goal setting and programs to work on the areas necessary to meet PRs. We recommend speedwork only for individuals who have been running these distances for at least one year.
