This is a 16 week marathon training program (Monday, Jan. 14 - Sunday, May 5)that includes a 10 week segment of speedwork workouts. The program includes a performance wear shirt, 2-3 group runs per week, personalized training schedule, expert presenters, and social running. This program is designed to be fun and social, as well as to help you achieve your time goal for marathon distance.
This is a combination program of the 16 weeks of marathon training that runs on Tuesdays at the Sparks Marina and Saturdays at Horseman's Park. It also includes 10 weeks of speedwork training on Wednesday nights ( Wed. Feb. 27 - Wed. May 1)at the trailhead at Woodchuck and Plateau and Reno High School Track. The 10 week session will meet at 6:00 p.m. at Woodchuck and Plateau for weeks 1-3 with a focus on hill running, form and efficiency. Weeks 4-10 will meet at Reno High School track to focus on speed. Coach Mark Hollingsworth is an accomplished runner, ultramarathoner and Ironman athlete. He has specialized training in working with runners and having them meet their training goals. Due to daylight savings some of the runs may occur in the dark, so please be prepared.We recommend having a minimum of one year of running prior to registering for this program.
