2 Mile Run/Walk
Runner and Walker welcome! Each participant can choose the day of the event if they would like to be timed. Its a great trail run for kids as there are lots of volunteers along the trail. Prizes for winner of each age group. 1 Water Station. Course: The 2 mile walk/run leaves Lion's camp on single tract to the open field by Lake Fork turn off. It crosses the bridge at the field and heads back up the road where you cross a bridge above Lion's Camp and head back to the Camp for the finish.
We hope to raise an additional $12,000 to drill a well in Ethopia. All the funds raised at the event will go to Look Development. An entry fee of $35 is the amount it takes to sponser one child for one month in Ethopia. Read more at lookdevelopment.org. Mail contributions to PO Box 416, Red Lodge, MT 59068. We have raised at least $12,000 each year since this event started in 2010. MMR was started to celebrate the life of a very special boy, Mason Bailey Shuck. Mason died in 2009 from a mitochondrial disease at the age of 11. This race/walk is to enjoy a day in the beautiful mountains and encourage anyone who is capable to run for those who can't. Event activities include a treasure hunt, jump house, music, face painting and a BBQ for all participants. For those individuals, especially special needs children, who are unable to participate in the 10K trail run or 2 mile mountain walk, a treasure hunt will be set up around Lion's Camp. This will be a fun time to find prizes while following a trail of knock knock jokes. After both events there will be a BBQ lunch to just enjoy and appreciate nature and our lives together.
