Pueblo Convention Center \tPueblo Creative Corridor
\nThe Colorado Creative Industries Summit 2013 is a convening of artist-entrepreneurs, owners of creative sector businesses, nonprofit & municipal cultural workers and emerging creatives coming together to explore the central theme, Mapping Creative Communities.
WHAT The Summit is a chance to network with peers across the state, learning and gaining inspiration from the triumphs and challenges of fellow creatives. This year's theme, Mapping Creative Communities, traces the paths taken by organizations, individuals, government, private sector businesses and the occasional unexpected partner toward vibrant, creative and economically successful communities. The event encourages creative engagement and further economic progress through the synergies of professional development, creative networking and community building. An array of workshops will explore five specific tracks; Creative Entrepreneurs, Art Innovation, Rural Arts and Creative Districts and Film. The day will wrap up with an exclusive open house experience in the Pueblo Creative Corridor and a dessert reception at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center. On the second day, participants will have the opportunity to hear the stories of successful entrepreneurial creatives and engage with them during professional development workshops and panels led by Colorado creatives. The Governor’s Arts Award luncheon featuring Governor John Hickenlooper and musical entertainment by Pueblo's own Haunted Windchimes, will celebrate winning communities, Aspen and Pueblo. Both towns will receive recognition for effectively employing the arts and creative activity as a strategy for community and economic development.
