What's Included

The trees of Tryon Creek State Natural Area are home to hundreds of birds. This introductory camp will encourage your childâs natural curiosity for living things, giving special attention to the diversity of feathered friends around us. From woodpeckers to wrens, owls to hummingbirds, campers will learn how birds fly and what makes them important members of the forest community. By listening to bird calls, feeling feathers and looking for birds in the trees, campers will use their senses while exploring the forest in small groups that foster one-on-one attention and flexibility. Activities include hiking, stories, sensory explorations, songs, games, crafts and more.
