2nd Annual Tippecanoe 5K/10K Trail & Mud Run

Trail run will include a minimum of eleven obstacles negotiated on a 5K course. The Kids run will be on a separate course with scaled down obstacles. This event is being held in association with the Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival and proceeds from the event will be used to enhance Tippecanoe Park and promote environmental awareness. Obstacle information can be found at the Charlotte County website beginning August 1, 2013. Post race food and entertainment will be provided.
Tippecanoe Environmental Park is located behind the Charlotte Sports Park (Spring Training home of the Tampa Bay Rays).
As you enter the Sports Park parking area, participant parking will be directed to the left into field parking.
In association with the run, the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program and Charlotte County will be hosting the 11th annual Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival with exhibits, demonstrations, art and a variety of other activities for the whole family.

Race Day Registration
You may register the day of the race, but shirts and Goodie Bags are not guaranteed. You must register between 6:30-8:00am the day of the race.

3 Member Teams must include at least one woman. 4 Member Teams must be comprised of two women and two men. Teams are required to remain within sight of each other during entire race and must finish within 30 seconds of one another to be eligible for awards. A team captain must be designated and all team members must be included on rosters. Each individual must complete an entry form. Team participants are not eligible for individual awards.
Team entries receive a discount that is applied at the time of entry. Savings will vary depending on team size and date of entry. Entry deadlines apply.
Businesses and organizations wishing to Challenge their employees to get out and "mud it up" may register a minimum of five and a maximum of twenty employees. Corporate Challenge participants are eligible for individual awards.

$5.00 discount off of individual fees for each employee. Rosters must be included and each employee must be registered. Fee deadlines apply and any organization not meeting the entry requirement of a minimum of five employees will be required to pay the balance due for individual entries on the day of the race.
5K & 10K Timing
Chip timing provided for 5K & 10K events.
Tromp through tires filled with water and mud / Make your way through an intricate web of rope / Climb up and jump off an 8-12 feet wall of hay / Make your way through fresh turned sand and mud trails / Balance across a 2 foot wide teeter-tauter / Jump over the hurdles to make it to the smooth boardwalk / Climb up the side of ?Mount Tippecanoe? on a cargo net / Belly crawl through the sand under a secured net / Crawl on hands and knees through large culvert tunnels. Plan for surprises.
Maximum Trail Run Time Limit
The 5K & 10K Trail Runs will be limited to one hour and thirty minutes. All runners still on the course at the limit will be notified the race has been concluded and will be asked to proceed to the finish to turn in their chips.
Over 350 acres of natural Florida wildlands, nesting osprey and bald eagles, historical middens dating back 2,500 years, 100+ varieties of birds including Florida Scrub-jays and seven miles of nature trails.
Cash Awards for top 3 overall Male and Female in 5K & 10K races Medal Awards in 13 Age Groups for 5K & 10K races (Participants must successfully complete all obstacles to be eligible for cash and medal awards)
Participants in the 5K & 10K races will receive a Dry Fit T-shirt, complementary Goodie Bag and refreshments. Post event live music and family activities. Multiple water stations and emergency medical assistance on course.
