TheSlug is Back!Slug Gulch, that is, and the other classic Sierra Century routes inAmador/El Dorado Counties. Join us for a beautiful and challengingride. The Sacramento Wheelmen are offering a metric, century or doublecentury route.
Thisyear's Sierra Century willoffer three classic routes all start/end at the Amador CountyFairgrounds inPlymouth:
- TheMetric (65 miles, 4500 ft. elevation gain) goes to Ione, Sutter Creek,Volcano, and Fiddletown.
- TheCentury (102 miles, 7400 ft. elevation gain) follows the Metric routeto Fiddletown and up Slug Gulch.
- TheDouble Metric (120 miles, 10,000 ft. elevation gain) follows theCentury route to the top of Slug Gulch and adds an extra loop withadditionalclimbing before returning to the Fairgrounds.
Theride will be held rain or shine.Sorry, but all payments arenon-refundable.
Plentyof free parking at the AmadorCounty Fairgrounds. Once at the Fairgrounds, follow the signs and/orvolunteerflaggers.
RegistrationPackets:You can pick upyour registration packet at the Fairgrounds, Pokerville Hall, onFriday, June15, 2012 from 4:00-7:30 PM. Saturday, the day of the ride, registrationis openfrom 6:00-9:00 AM.
Breakfastwill be available duringthe morning registration.
DoubleMetric and Century ridersneed to be on the course by 7:00 AM. Double Metric riders must leavethe IndianDiggings School/Omo Ranch Rest Stop, at the top of Slug Gulch, by 2:00PM. LateDouble Metric riders will be redirected to Century course.
Thefirst rest stop in Ione atHoward Park officially opens at 7:00 AM. Volunteers will be setting upas earlyas 6:00 AM.
Thepost-ride meal will be servedstarting at 12 Noon and closing at 6:00 PM.

Rules of the Road:
SHARETHE ROAD!We are guests of Amador and El Dorado Counties. Our ridetakes place on rural roads, some with limited shoulder area and, thoughlightlytraveled, are shared with motorists. Donot obstruct the flow of traffic,ridesingle file, stop at all stop signs, and obey the rules of the road.CHP willbe monitoring the roadways for your safety and have been encouraged tociteviolators. This is a ride and not a race!
ANSIor Snell approved helmets are mandatory. Youshould carry a spare tube, patch kit, tire pump and identification.
