The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department offers many wonderful activities for children between the ages of 3 and 5. These classes provide a wonderful introduction into an organized, positive, classroom environment. Begin the socialization process for your child with a fun and exciting recreational class provided by your City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department. Students will learn pre-school based skills including the months of the year, days of the weeks, counting, story time, arts & crafts, music, alphabet letters, and other age appropriate developmental activities. Social skills will be emphasized as students engage in individual and group activities. This class serves as a pre-cursor for Kindergarten Prep classes. *Parents must remain on premises during class time." Classes taught are from classical Nihon (Japanese) Ju-Jitsu (gentle art) systems which are designed to develop self-defense skills, coordination, strength, self-confidence and respect. Beginning level students will learn safe falling techniques and basic Jujitsu arts utilizing many techniques: throwing, bone and joint locking, grappling, choking, striking, kneeling and kicking as well as controlling an adversary. Uniforms are available upon request through the instructor and are not required during the initial class. Classes are taught by Nanban Sato-ryu Jujitsu Japan Certified Instructor, Sensei T. Rabino Sr." Infant, child and adult CPR. This class is taught by a certified CPR instructor from Phoenix Fire Fighter Union. Student certification is issued upon successful completion of class.
