Phoenix Afterschool Center (PAC) Afterschool Program is a school-based recreation program for children ages six (6) - 13. PAC provides age appropriate recreational and developmental activities that are fun, stimulating, and enriching.
Please note, some sites may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
Age restricted registration: Please update 'My Account' with correct age for client. Phoenix Afterschool Center (PAC) is an out-of-school time recreation program for school-age children throughout Phoenix. Under the supervision of professional recreation staff, youth are provided with a variety of age appropriate developmental large group activities that are fun, stimulating and enriching. Please note, some sites may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
Registration fees are based on USDA Free and Reduced Lunch rates and are subject to change after July 1 based on the March 2010 USDA qualifying rates report.
Any participant registered that does not meet the minimum age or grade requirements, will be removed from the program and a refund will not be issued. By registering for this course you are confirming your child meets the requirements.
" This class is an introductory martial arts class for the wee ones. Tots will learn self-esteem and respect. Kids are encouraged to wear loose fitting clothing. We Love Parents But...With your child's best interest in mind, we ask that parents do not remain in the classroom or bring other children into the class . This may interrupt the participants's attention and inhibit the establishment of peer relationships. We also ask that your child refrain from bringing any personal items into the program. The class begins with conditioning exercises to stretch and strengthen their muscles, as well as building endurance. Students will become familiar with the use of the ballet barre. This class introduces students to ballet terminology, body placement, and class etiquette. There is a large focus on developing musicality and understanding how the movement corresponds with the music." This class focuses on ballet technique and ballet terminology. It consists of stretching and strengthening, ballet barre, and some center work. Body placement, class etiquette, and musicality are still being developed, as well as beginning to introduce artistry through the use of the head, arms, and upper body. Let's mix up medias and serve up some spicey and luscious "Creations de Arte". We will use a mixture of wet and dry mediums. Using juicy water colors, water colored pencils, oil pastels and tempera paints. Let's break out pen and ink working on washes. Don't forget the dry media using colored pencils, ebony pencils, conte' pencils and pastels. So let's go wild with wet media and get dizzy with the dry media.
