About This Activity

Purpose: Run for Africa (RFA) is a 5K run/walk, designed as a health & fitness, fundraiser and awareness campaign to support K-12 education and eradicate poverty in Liberia and United States. This year's event benefits the Liberian Education Initiative: African School of the Future (LEI). Expected to open in 2017, LEI is a proposed model K-12 Christian school environment focused on college preparatory education, peace & reconciliation, and the utilization of renewable energy.

 

Location: Walnut Lane Circle (Mt. Airy), 699 Johnson Street, Philadelphia PA 19144

 

Awards: First prize: $50 each first place male and female overall.

Second prize: $25 each second place male and female overall

Others: Variable prizes for top two male and female in each age group.

Children are welcome! Babysitting or special event will be provided for very young children.

 

 

Entry: Early Bird Special is $30 if registered before 5/12/2015 and $35 on Race day. Race package pick up will be the day of the run/walk starting at 8am.

 

Amenities: The Run for Africa 5K is a scenic trail run/walk through a wooded area of Valley Forge. There is ample parking, and restroom facilities are available at the conference center. Fees include: t-shirt, refreshments, food & prizes (t-shirt not guaranteed w/race day registration).
