LOTTERY FOR NYC MARATHON REGISTRANTS
- The Philadelphia Marathon has opened its race to accommodate 3,000 registered NYC marathoners. In order to qualify for this lottery, you will need to provide your 2012 NYC Confirmation Code that you received in your race confirmation from the NYRR organizers.

- REGISTRATION FEES/BIBS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE.
- You are not considered registered until full payment is received by the Philadelphia Marathon.
- There is no race packet pick-up on race day, except for the Kids Fun Run. Race packets must be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, November 16, from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m., or Saturday, November 17, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
- Rothman Institute 8K participants must pick up their race packets on Friday, November 16.
- As part of your runner package, shirt sizes are distributed on a first-come, first served basis at packet pick-up. Size is not guaranteed.

ONLY those who registered for the 2012 NYC Marathon are eligible for this special lottery.
The registration fee for the NYC lottery winners is $200. Half of the registration fee will be donated to the Hurricane Relief Fund of the American Red Cross. You will need to provide a valid credit card number when entering the lottery process; your card will be charged only IF you are selected. Due to the short time period before the race, we will be unable to provide you with a Philadelphia Marathon tech shirt prior to race day. We encourage you to wear your New York Marathon shirt on race day. We will mail your Philadelphia Marathon shirt to you at a later date.
When the lottery closes at 5 PM on Thursday, November 8th, 3,000 names will be randomly selected by computer for entry into the Philadelphia Marathon race. Registrants will be advised of their status on/before Monday, November 12, 2012.

KIDS ZONE at HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO
Don't forget to bring the youngsters to the Kids Zone at the Health & Fitness Expo. Come and check out a wonderful lineup of interactive games, activities and musical entertainment that the entire family will enjoy. The Kids Zone is the perfect place to encourage a fun, healthy lifestyle for your children, and it's FREE!
Runners will need to pick up a race packet at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, November 16 (from noon until 9:00 p.m.) or Saturday, November 17 (from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.). RACE PACKETS WILL NOT BE MAILED. RACE PACKETS WILL NOT BE DISTRIBUTED ON RACE DAY.
START LINE INSTRUCTIONS
Rothman Institute 8K participants should arrive at the designated starting area on 22nd Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway by 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17. The Rothman Institute will have a self-seeded, single start.
Marathon and Half Marathon participants should be at the starting point at 22nd Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway by 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 18.
For the Full and Half Marathons, in order to make sure that every person has a great race experience, we are starting participants in waves by color corrals to reduce any bottlenecks. Your wave corral will be walked up to the start line, and once the horn for your color sounds, you can take off!
Color corral and start/finish area maps will be available for download closer to race weekend. Your bib number and corral assignment will be based on the anticipated finish time that you provide when you register. You will be advised of your bib and corral assignment in a pre-race email approximately 10 days before the day of your event.
Drinking water and Port-a-Johns will be available at the starting line.
Be sure to wear your number on the front of your shirt.

The course is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. NO bicycles, skateboards, scooters, baby joggers, strollers, roller skates or blades are permitted on the race course during the Marathon, Half Marathon or Rothman Institute 8K. The Philadelphia Marathon strongly discourages the use of personal audio devices (i.e. iPods, MP3 headsets, etc.). Digital splits are provided at 10K, 13.1 mile and 30K marks.
For the Rothman Institute 8K the water stop is located at mile 3 (4.8K). For the Marathon and Half Marathon water stops and port-a-johns are set up throughout the length of the course. Water, Gatorade and port-a-johns will be available at Race Start, miles 2.2, 3.5, 5.25, 7, 9.5, 11, 13.05, 15.5, 16.5, 18, 19.6, 20.4, 22, 23.5, 24.5, and Race Finish. Additionally, energy gels will be available at miles 9.5, 18 and 22.
GEAR CHECK / LOST AND FOUND
Race Day gear check will be available in the Eakins Oval area beginning Saturday, 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and Sunday 5:15 a.m. to closing at 2:00 p.m. A lost and found station will be located at the awards tent. Please enclose complete contact information inside your race bag. The Philadelphia Marathon is not responsible for any unclaimed, stolen, or lost items.
