Sponsored by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton Sports Business Initiative (WSBI), the Wharton Sports Business Academy (WSBA) is a summer institute that provides an opportunity for talented rising high school juniors and seniors to study sports business leadership at the Wharton School. This program will teach students about ownership, sports agents, marketing and media as they meet and learn from leaders in the sports business world. WSBA examines various academic disciplines as they apply to the sports industry with an overview of the business and legal aspects of various intercollegiate, Olympic and professional sports enterprises. You will visit some of the regions most important facilities, and ultimately gain insight into the leadership, management, and increasingly global nature of the sports business. In addition, you’ll meet leaders in the sports business world and visit some of the region’s highest profile facilities as you explore ownership, sports agents and celebrity endorsements. In order to begin your application to WSBA, you must submit payment of the $75 non-refundable application fee. In order to request an application fee waiver, an email supporting your request should be sent by your college or guidance counselor to firstname.lastname@example.org. The application deadline is March 1, 2017 and admissions decisions will be released via email on March 24, 2017. Accepted students will be asked to RSVP by March 31, 2017 and must submit a payment of $7695 by April 7, 2017. Payments may be made via check or wire transfer.
