While all of us love reading books, how many of us can make books? This interactive camp will lead young artists as they print and construct their very own books from scratch. Campers will experiment with different methods of printmaking, including Suminagashi (Japanese paper marbling), screenprinting, monoprinting, embossing, and stamping. We will use a variety of inks, papers, and tools throughout the week. Students will construct a hand-sewn book with some of the prints made. They will explore the concepts of composition, design, layering, texture, and space to create original works of art. This is perfect for artists of all skill levels and for book lovers who are ready to take their interest to the next level. Early drop off is available at no additional cost from 8:00am-9:00am. Optional Extended Day available from 3:00-5:30pm each day. Please select this option during registration.
