Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and table tennis. Played on a court similar but smaller than a tennis court, the game is more accessible to a wider range of players, particularly seniors and youngsters. The court is about one-third the size of a tennis court with a net that is two inches shorter. Players use a composite solid paddle and a plastic wiffle ball so the pace of the game is less demanding than tennis.
Jack Hodges, the instructor, just retired from coaching college baseball and moved to the Central Coast.
