Pickleball - 10/punch pass

About This Activity

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and table tennis.  Played on a court similar but smaller than a tennis court, the game is more accessible to a wider range of players, particularly seniors and youngsters.  The court is about one-third the size of a tennis court with a net that is two inches shorter.  Players use a composite solid paddle and a plastic wiffle ball so the pace of the game is less demanding than tennis.

Jack Hodges, the instructor, just retired from coaching college baseball and moved to the Central Coast.  An avid tennis player and tennis instructor, he discovered the advantages of Pickleball   This user-friendly sport provides a great workout with less stress on the joints than the game of tennis.  Jack has equipment for you to use so you can try the sport.  Once you try pickleball, you will want to purchase your own equipment so you can play anytime.  Cost for a paddle and a set of wiffle balls is about $60.  A $10 annual material fee is payable to the instructor.  Contact Jack at 949-547-2251 for details, or go to www.usapa.org.

Come check out this great sport and you will be hooked for life!
