Phoenix Afterschool Center (PAC) Afterschool Program is a school-based recreation program for children ages six (6) - 13. PAC provides age appropriate recreational and developmental activities that are fun, stimulating, and enriching.

Phoenix Afterschool Center (PAC) is an out-of-school time recreation program for school-age children throughout Phoenix. Under the supervision of professional recreation staff, youth are provided with a variety of age appropriate developmental large group activities that are fun, stimulating and enriching. Please note, some sites may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
Registration fees are based on USDA Free and Reduced Lunch rates and are subject to change after July 1 based on the March 2011 USDA qualifying rates report.
Any participant registered that does not meet the minimum age or grade requirements, will be removed from the program and a refund will not be issued. By registering for this course you are confirming your child meets the requirements. " This class captures the joy of dancing in the students. Using creativity and imagination, we begin to learn basic ballet technique. The class will consist of conditioning and strengthening exercises, as well as free form and structured group movement activities. Motor skills are perfected and some ballet vocabulary is introduced. Students learn proper class etiquette and how to work individually, as well as with a group." Designed for children who have little to no formal dance instruction in ballet. Basic stances and arm and hand placement are studied in a fun and nurturing way. Clothing should be loose and non-restrictive, leotards and tights are optional. Registration for this course will end one week before the start date. ***Parents must remain on premises during class time." This class is designed for dance students (11 years - adult) who would like to develop their talents and possibly perform at community events or other activities as they become available. During this class we will develop unique and creative movements that will be combined into dance routines. Many styles of dance will be explored: Jazz, lyrical, ballet, modern, Polynesian, Asian, etc. Types of dance shoes will be discussed first class, but please bring any dance shoes you already own to the first class. This is for all levels of dancers." This is Hataha Yoga with a continuous dynamic flow, it enhances circulation and increases strength, energy, stamina, flexibility, balance and the ability to deal with stress. This flowing sequence emphasizes the observation and breathing practices to encourage you to go at your own pace. As always, we incorporate deep breathing and relaxation techniques. Come join us in this dynamic class. Most students can do this class. Bring mat, towel and water. Wear comfortable clothes you can stretch in.
