Part of the Buffalo Springs Lake Ironman 70.3 weekend, the Little Bison race is open to kids ages 5 to 15. The swim takes place in a shallow inlet with lifeguards standing in the water next to the swimmers. The bike and run are flat, out-and-back courses.

This annual event is held in the scenic Kettle Moraine Forest at Ottawa Lake. The kids' race (ages 3 to 14) is on Saturday and the adult sprint and Olympic-distance races are on Sunday. Part of the proceeds benefit Tri-ing for Children's, Inc., a non-profit charity for children's hospitals.
