ABOUT THE PIANO CLASS: Students participating in the group piano class will focus on music theory such as reading notes and rhythms, scales, and melodic structure. As students progress, they will continue to develop correct technique and move into more challenging musical concepts such as chord progressions and phrasing. All students will learn music appropriate for their skill level which may include classical and modern pieces. Piano isn’t just a life-long skill that kids can continue to develop into adulthood, it’s also fun! DAY/TIME: 45 minute classes will take place one time per week either on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, from 3:30pm to 4:15pm. Groups will be formed according to skill level. Parents will be notified of the day the student will attend class. SKILL LEVEL: Beginner to Advanced (students will be grouped according to skill level) CLASS SIZE: Minimum of 5 students per class MATERIALS: *Please do not purchase materials until you are notified of enrollment. Parents will be instructed to buy materials once classes have begun. www.sheetmusic.com is a good resource. Material cost will range from $15-$25 per year. POLICIES: 1. This is a semester long program. The parent must inform Musika before the next semester begins if they wish to discontinue lessons, as the student's spot will be reserved. 2. There are no refunds for students who miss a class. 3. Classes missed due to teacher absence or weather related school closing will be refunded at the end of the semester. ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENT: If fewer than 5 students enroll, the class will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued.
