This is the 44th Annual Jamboree Rides. The Shasta Wheelmen have been putting on Century rides for 44 years, and until 2013 the event was called the “Jamboree Century”. In 2013 we decided to move our century event back to the Palo Cedro area from the Redding area to take advantage of the scenic beauty of the foothills in eastern Shasta County seen in early May, what with lush meadows, wildflowers, range land, farms, flowing streams, and stands of oak, pine & cedar.
Event rescheduled from May 3rd 2014 and renamed
We had insufficient pre-registration for May 3rd, partly due to a crowded calendar for many competing Century events in May, so rescheduled to early October when there are few competing events, and the weather is still mild with little threat of rain.
Shasta Wheelmen Give Me Wings Super Century Jerseys can be ordered from Voler using this link:http://www.voler.com/browse/collections/details/li/GiveMeWingsSuperCentury/
Riders registering in person at Foothill High School after online registration closes will be charged a $5 late fee.
Our routes are crafted to appeal to a wide range of riders, from the 26 mile relatively flat ride that affords a view of the mountains on all sides, to the 126 mile Super Century, which is one of the more challenging rides in California designed with the die hard biker in mind. Our rest stops have been critically acclaimed for their excellent food and friendly staff. We strive to have a variety of fresh fruit and other foods needed by riders, such as salty snacks and potatoes with salt, baked foods, energy drinks and energy supplements. We meet the needs of a variety of riders from those doing the shorter rides to those doing the demanding Century and Super Century routes.
