Brief Description
A 10K, 5K and 1-mile run/walk on a loop course starting and finishing at Reach 11 Horse Lover’s Park, 19224 North Tatum Boulevard in Phoenix. Registration begins at 6:00 AM. The race begins at 7:15 AM. For more information, please call the Arizona Road Racers hotline at (602) 954-8341.
Additional Information
The Arizona Road Racers presents its first ever GREEN race! In this day and age, we feel it's more important than ever to lessen our impact on the environment. With your help, we can make this race a success and perhaps begin a new trend. This GREEN race will feature the following:
o Grab bag t-shirts from previous races will be given to each entrant.
o One raffle ticket will be given for each pair of old running shoes brought for donation. There will be a raffle following the race.
o Recycling bins separate from trash. You may have noticed these at some of our previous races; please be sure to throw items that can be recycled (aluminum cans, plastic bottles) in the recycling bins and trash in the trash bins.
o A beautiful course away from traffic so that you can enjoy the natural surroundings as you run.
To respect the runners and volunteers who are runners, registration closes 10 minutes prior to the start of the race.
Some things you can do to make the race even greener (if you'd like):
o Carpool to the race.
o Avoid listening to music as you run. Instead, enjoy the sounds of nature!
o Bring your own water bottle to run with.
If you are a current member of the club, your entry is free if you register by August 29, 2009. Please see the price chart for members that register after August 29th and non-members. The race takes place at the Reach 11 Horse Lover’s Park, 19224 North Tatum Boulevard in Phoenix. Registration begins at 6:00 AM and closes at 7:00 AM. Both the 5K and 10K begin at 7:15 AM with the 1 Mile Fun Run taking place at 7:20 AM. Voting for a new Board of Directors will also take place at this race. The 10K is a part of the 2009 ARR Grand Prix Series.
The races will have awards for the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.
Race day fee is $15.
