Brief Description
The Run for the Whales travels through beautiful Makena, on a course that is rated moderate. Half marathon, 5K run, 5K walk and 2K kids races are available. Adult entries will receive professional timing, a free breakfast and race t-shirt for all participants, plus medals and leis for the top winners in each age category. Keiki entries will recieve race t-shirts, with ribbons for the winners in each age category.

The Run for the Whales is a fundraiser for the marine science education programs offered by Pacific Whale Foundation for Maui schoolchildren. These programs take place in the classroom/science labs at Pacific Whale Foundation’s Discovery Center and in the field; they include water testing programs, eco-friendly tidepool explorations, whalewatches and career mentoring programs.
