Course
“The Schuykill River Running Loop”, an 8.4 mile loop course in Philadelphia, PA that passes the Philadelphia Art Museum, Boat House row and runs along the Schuykill river.
Relay
The ‘20in24,’ presented by Nike, will start on Saturday, July 18th at 10 a.m. at Lloyd Hall and end on Sunday, July 19th at 10 a.m. at Lloyd Hall . Teams of five must complete the loops of their category level within the 24-hour time limit. Bronze and Silver Levels have the option of starting at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m.
Race Support
4 refreshment stations with plenty of food and hydration, 24-hour EMS bike support, use of Lloyd hall for team relaxing, quiet area for napping, music and other entertainment
Race Awards
The Relay: The winning Platinum team will receive $1,000. The winning Gold, Silver and Bronze teams will each receive $500. The top 3 teams in each category will also receive awards
The Lone Ranger: The male and female who run the most miles in 24 hours will each receive $1,000.
Midnight Madness and Pajama Loop: The top male and female in both of these races will receive $100
Awards will also be given to the top 3 male and female in each individual race category.
Fundraising
Each level of participation has a different registration fee or the option to fundraise the amount of the fee instead.
We are encouraging all participants and teams to fundraise for Back on My Feet in lieu of paying their registration fee. The top fundraiser will receive two round trip tickets from Airtran.
TEAM DETAILS
Teams consist of FIVE members (any gender). Members run or walk relay style and have 24 hours to complete their challenge. Challenge categories are:
Challenge Level: BRONZE
5 total loops in 24 hours. Total team mileage is 42 miles, total member mileage is 8.4 miles with an average pace 34 min/mi. Each team member is responsible to complete ONE loop. The registration, or fundraising, fee is $55 per member. The $5 increase from last year is due to an increase in public safety costs.
Challenge Level: SILVER
10 total loops in 24 hours. Total team mileage is 84 miles, total member mileage is 16.8 miles with an average pace 17 min/mi. Each team member is responsible to complete TWO loops. The registration, or fundraising, fee is $110 per member. The $10 increase from last year is due to an increase in public safety costs.
Challenge Level: GOLD
15 total loops in 24 hours. Total team mileage is 126 miles, total member mileage is 25.2 miles with an average pace 11 min/mi. Each team member is responsible to complete THREE loops. The registration, or fundraising, fee is $155 per member.The $10 increase from last year is due to an increase in public safety costs.
Challenge Level: PLATINUM
20 total loops in 24 hours. Total team mileage is 168 miles, total member mileage is 33.6 miles with an average pace 8:40 min/mi. Each team member is responsible to complete FOUR loops. The registration, or fundraising, fee is $210 per member. The $10 increase from last year is due to an increase in public safety costs.
THE LONE RANGER -SOLD OUT - $500 Extended offer
Individuals wishing to push themselves to their limits! No designated loop requirement, rather individuals are encouraged to do as many loops as possible in the 24 hour time-frame. The regular Lone Ranger category is SOLD OUT, but you may register under the $500 extended offer, which we encourage people to fundraise in lieu of paying themselves.
MIDNIGHT MADNESS - SOLD OUT - $100 Extended offer:
Philadelphia’s only glow-in-the-dark 8.4-mile run starting at Midnight on Saturday, July 19th in front of Lloyd Hall. There will prizes for the most ‘illuminated’ runners as well as the three fastest males and females. The registration, or fundraising, fee is $100
THE PAJAMA LOOP
It’s hard enough getting up at the crack of dawn to run, so we decided to save you a step by creating the Pajama Loop, which may pose a problem for those of you who sleep nude (please put on something!). The new 8.4-mile Pajama loop will start at 5:30 am on Sunday, July 19th in front of Lloyd Hall. In addition to awards for the top three male and female finishers, we'll have an award for the best set of PJ’s. The registration fee is $35 and will increase to $45 on June 15th
