INFORMATION -Videos and Photos of course
Please see website at www.thecoloradomarathon.com for more information and to view videos and photos of our amazing course and running experience.
Most Scenic Course in America!
The Colorado Marathon course has repeatedly been claimed to be the most scenic course in America. The thrill of running down the Poudre River Canyon in the Colorado Rockies is an experience and a memory that will last a lifetime.
Top Boston Qualifier
The Colorado Marathon has consistently produced a high number of Boston qualifying times. The distracting beauty, gradual down hill, mild weather and slight tail wind combine for a marathon and half marathon time (and overall experience) that may be pleasantly surprising.
What I get with my entry fee??
Besides the scenery and fast course, which are fortunately out of our control and always guaranteed to be spectacular, all participants receive... Brooks technical running shirt, Custom Finisher Print (its like a poster), Goody bag with, well, many more goodies --- All Marathon, half marathon and 5k participants are provided a charter luxury bus ride to the starts (this is worth the price of admission). --- All marathon and half marathon finishers receive a CUSTOM MEDALLION.
Fort Collins #1 place to live in America??
In 2008, CNN/Money magazine ranked Fort Collins #2 in America's best small cities. So, come visit our little treasure nestled against the Colorado Rockies and Rocky Mountain National Park. Denver International Airport is a short distance away.
Certified course and electronic chip timing
The Marathon and Half Marathon courses are certified. All events will have electronic chip timing. Start mats are located at Marathon and Half Marathon starts to provide a net finish time and half marathon split time.
Beneficiaries
The Colorado Marathon events are community focused. Net proceeds are donated to a number of charities including (but not limited to) the Friends of the Poudre, Emerge Colorado, Larimer County Boys and Girls Club, Larimer County Parks, Fort Collins City Recreation, Northern Colorado Running Foundation, local high school and college cross country teams, boys and girls scouts.
Name Change
The Colorado Marathon is formally the Fort Collins Old Town Marathon. This is the 8th year of the event.
