The 29th Annual Sunshine Run will start and finish at the home of the Springfield Cardinals and will include the St. John's Clinic-Orthopedic Specialist 10K, Murney Associates 5K, benefiting Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, and the KTXR 1-Mile “Walk with the Gentle Giant. Money raised through this event benefits St. John’s Burn Center, which treats patients of all age groups. The Sunshine Run attracts more than 2,100 participants annually.
The Sunshine Run pre-race pasta dinner featuring 1976 Olympic Decathlon Gold Medalist Bruce Jenner, presented by PHCS Savility, is open to everyone - runners, walkers, spectators, volunteers, family and friends. It will be held at Hammons Field, home of the Springfield Cardinals.
Bruce Jenner captivated the world when he broke the world record by scoring 8,634 points in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal and earned the title, “World’s Greatest Athlete.”
