Trail run through rolling glaciated terrain including forested moraines, kettle ponds, old growth white pine, valley meadows, and prairie. High ridge views of Devil's Lake.

Local foods lunch after the race. First 100 registered half marathoners receive a copy of Aldo Leopold's Sand County Almanac. Race shirts are U.S. sewn, organic cotton. Age group placers (top 3) win one pound blocks of Cedar Grove Organic Cheese.
