Santa Barbara Running Co. at 110 Anacapa St. Saturday, May 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Race Day at the start, State Street and Pedregosa, from 7 a.m. on.

 

Want to run two races?

If the Family Mile is one of the races, enter the other (non-Family Mile) race and wear the bib number provided for it for both races. You will be charged for only the non-Family race.
If you want to run two races, neither of which is the Family Mile, enter just one of the races and specify which additional race you want to run. You will be provided with bib numbers for each race and charged for only one race. The only unavailable combination is the Master's Elite and the Elite Mile.

First race begins at 8:00am. Fast gradual downhill mile through scenic downtown Santa Barbara. Total descent is 100 ft. Featuring: Age group categories, Dog Mile, Family Fun Mile, Masters Elite Mile (with cash awards) and Elite Mile (Prize money and course record bonus). Raffle prizes, entertainment and food. There will be seven age-group races: 14/under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-69. 70+ will be run with the 60-69 race, but separate prizes will be awarded. The Elite Mile is a competitive race with cash prizes to the top three men and women ($500, $250 and $100 and $100 course record bonus - must better 3:54 men and 4:33 women). Qualifying times are 4:30 for men and 5:30 for women. The Master's Elite Mile features cash awards based on age-graded scoring. In past years, to be competitive in the age-raded mile, participants have run at the 85% and 80% levels for men and women, respectively; See http://www.rdg.ac.uk/~snsgrubb/athletics/wavalookup.html for an explanation of age-graded scoring). Awards are $150, $100 and $50 for men and women. There are no qualifying times for the Master's Elite Mile, but entrants are not eligible for age-group awards. Race day registration will be $30 with t-shirt and $25 without. Family Fun Mile is $5 with no t-shirt, $10 with a t-shirt.
