Packet Pick-up

We will have packet pick up on both Sept. 21st and Sept. 23rd. On Sept. 21st packet pick up will be held from 12:00pm - 6:00pm at Anacostia Annex Bldg. 419, Fitness Center in Washington, DC. If you are unable to make the first date or don't posses an authorized id to access the base of Anacostia Annex please attend the Sept. 23rd packet pick-up. On the Sept. 23rd packet pick up will be from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Pacers Running & Walking Store. The address is 1301 King Street Alexandria, VA 22314

Individual Awards

Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male, female and wheelchair athletes.

Team Categories/Awards($15.00 Per Team Fee)

Each team must consist of a minimum of five( 5 )runners. The top five times will be combined to determine the total team time. Team members must register under the same group name for the purpose of accurately tracking your team's time. Other team's must list the name of their company, university or organization (e.g., BAE Systems, Montgomery County Road Runners, U.S. Naval Academy)

Military Championship(Admiral's Challenge)

A trophy will be presented to the top military team. The winning team will also receive a paid team entry for the Army Ten-Miler in October 2007. All team members must be active duty and from the same branch of service

Race Course

The race starts and finishes at West Potomac Park near the intersection of Independence Avenue and Ohio Drive. The starting point is on Independence Avenue.

Course Certification

The course is certified by the USATF (DC05004JS) and is fast and flat. The Navy 5 Miler thanks the National Park Service for the use of this area.

Driving Directions: From SE Washingto, DC

From SE Washington, DC; Prince George's County, MD: Take Pennsylvania Avenue West into Washington. Exit onto I-395 South (towards downtown Richmond). Take first exit off I-395 Soutn in VA. (GW Parkway North). Get on Memorial Bridge & follow into Washington. Bear right and follow exit for West Potomac Park.

Driving Directions: From NW Washington, DC

NW Washington, DC, Montgomery County, MD: Take Connecticut Avenue, NW to Calvert Street, NW, West. Turn left onto Rock Creek Parkway South. Follow Rock Creek Parkway Sount until exit for West Potomac Park. Follow exit for West Potomac Park.

Driving Directions from I-495 East to N. VA.

Or take I-495 East to Northern Virginia. Exit onto GW Parkway South to Washington. Follow GW Parkway to Washington. Follow GW Parkway to Washington. Follow exit for Memorial Bridge & take bridge into Washington. Bear right & follow exit for West Potomac Park.

Driving Directions From VA.

Follow GW Parkway to Washington. Follow exit for Memorial Bridge into Washington. Bear right and follow exit for West Potomac Park.

Driving Directions: US Route 50 East to DC

Take US Route 50 East to Washington. Follow exit for GW Parkway South (at Iwo Jimo Memorial). Follow GW Parkway South until exit for Memorial Bridge to Washington, DC. Follow exit for Memorial Bridge and take bridge to Washington. Bear right and follow exit for West Potomac Park.

Race Amenities

All paid participants receive commemorative Navy 5 Miler long sleeve t-shirt, USATF certified course,AMB-IT chip timing,post race refreshments & entertainment, awards ceremony

Race Results

Race Management and results will be provided by Charm City Run. Official race results will be posted on www.charmcityrun.com. Charm City will be using AMB-i.t. electronic scoring system for all timing services.

Refunds

All fees are non-refundable. The race will be conducted rain or shine.

Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering, call the race hotline at 202-433-2269. Al volunteers will receive a Navy 5 Miler t-shirt. Groups of 5 or more will receive special team recognition awards

Clothing Storage Area

Due to the National Park Service safety/security policy, all personal items must be stored in a clear, see-through bag. There will be a tent near the Start/Finsih area for storing clothing and personal items. Gym bags and other non-see-through bags will not be permitted but can be emptied into a clear bag and stored. Please do not bring valuables.

For Your Safety

The following will not be allowed on the course: bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, dogs, headphones, baby strollers and unregistered runners.
