The City of Oxnard Recreation & Community Services in conjunction with the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation (SCMAF) and Major League Baseball (MLB) will host the local competition of the Aquafina Pitch, Hit & Run Skills Competition. The baseball/softball skills competition scheduled for Sunday, April 15, 2013 at the Community Center West Softball Complex (Adair Field), 801 Hobson Way. The competition will begin at 10:00 am.
Pitch, Hit & Run will have a nationwide girl?s softball division, which will allow them to advance separately from the boys. Participants in the girl?s softball division will compete in the exact same skills (slightly different distances in the pitching & running), but will pitch & hit a softball instead of a baseball.
Pitch, Hit & Run is intended to encourage local youth participation and emphasize the ?FUN? element of baseball competition. Since there is no registration fee for this program, every boy and girl, ages 7-14 will have a chance to compete. Participants will compete in three important aspects of baseball: pitching, hitting and running.
The four age groups are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 with boys and girls competing separately. Age is determined as of July 16, 2013. All participants must complete a registration waiver form, which can be obtained online at www.oxnardrec.org or visit the Recreation Office at 545 South A Street.
