Brief Description

On August 18, 2012 the Texas Canoe & Kayak Racing Association will again hold the State Aluminum Championships on the Colorado River near La Grange Texas. The 18-mile race will include Championship classes for men, men’s masters, women and women’s master and classes for juniors and novice racers.

Additional Information

The race starts at Plum Park on the Colorado at Race start: 9:30 AM and ends at the Business 71 bridge boat ramp in La Grange. AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded to the first three places in the championship classes (male, male master, women, and women master) and medals to the first three places in the junior (ages 14-17) and novice classes. Special recognition will be given to the first two canoes with both paddlers over 50 year of age. BOAT SPECS: Championship Classes: maximum length 17’4”, minimum width 34.5 inches @gunwales; junior and novice: any recreational canoe (aluminum, plastic, wooden, royalex, etc.- no Beaver boats allowed)
