General Information

Join the Hudson River Watertrail Association on Sept. 9, 2012 for the 2nd Annual Paddle for a Cure this year benefitting the Dr. Love Breast Cancer Research Foundation. (www.dslrf.org) The Paddle for a Cure is for those who want to come out and have a good time on the Hudson River.We will have a fun, laid-back 11 mile poker paddle.

Poker Paddle

The Poker Paddle is an 11 mile fun paddle with stops along the way where you'll pick up a single playing card at 5 spots along the route.At the end of the course, whomever has the best poker hand , wins ! Poker paddlers start at 9 AM

Post Paddle Picnic Lunch

Don't miss the post paddle picnic. Food will be free to all participants and available for purchase for spectators. Beer will available for a cost, with all proceeds going to the feel your boobies organization... (www.feelyourboobies.com) cost will vary from A size cup ( small ) to D ( growler ) , so bring cash :)

Boats

Every sit in kayak must have a bulkhead or flotation device fore and aft . No sit in kayaks under 12 feet allowed for the event. sit-on-tops , as well as SUP's of any size are welcome. A limited number of SOT kayaks are available. Reserve yours today on this active.com page. All SOT kayak rental proceeds are donated to the Dr. Love Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Prizes

Fabulous prizes will be awarded to the top poker paddle participant. We'll also raffle off some great products from our sponsors.

Mandatory Gear

PFD's with Whistle must be worn at all times. Poker paddlers - a minimum 12 foot sit in kayak with 2 bulkheads or one bulkhead and one flotation device or any sit-on-top or SUP 10 feet or longer are acceptable. All participants must sign a liability release waiver.

Suggested Gear

Water, Sunscreen, bug spray, hat and VHF radio

Are you a Novice Paddler ?

If you are total newbie to sport of kayaking or a novice not comfortable with the Hudson River ? it's ok ! but please let us know... we have experienced hudson river guides as part of our water safety team and will create a group of like experienced paddlers as yourself with dedicated guides to make sure you have a fantastic day on the water.

Do You Need a Kayak ?

We have a limited number of SOT ( sit on top ) kayaks. Reserve yours now on this active.com page. All kayak rental proceeds are donated to the Dr. Love Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

ETC

All participants will get an event T-Shirt, post paddle picnic and a Great Day on the Hudson River ! There will be a shuttle bus - details to follow
