SOAR is a non-profit adventure camp that serves youth, ages 8 -25, diagnosed with learning disabilities and/or ADD/ADHD. For over 35 years, our ACA accredited program has helped youth develop self-confidence, social skills, organization & time management strategies, and more. Adventure activities include whitewater rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, snorkeling, SCUBA, fishing, surfing, kayaking, llama trekds, horseback riding, and much more! Our courses explore a variety of areas including the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the magnificient Wind River and Teton Mountains of Wyoming, the sunny Florida Keys, the California coast, and the Sierra Nevadas and Yosemite regions of northern California. We also offer exciting specialty courses in the Adirondack Region of New York, and in tropical Belize. Program vary in length, from 10-, 12, 15, 18, to 26 day courses. Each offer a unique combination of activities that take advantage of the incredible diversity of the regions they explore. In addition to our Summer Programs, we also serve this incredible population of students through our year round school program, The Academy at SOAR. This one-of-a-kind program focuses on the individual, and helps each youth develop life skills & self awareness in addition to gaining academic credit. We offer two course options each semester, which combine individualized academic curriculum with experiential adventure activities.
