Proceeds from the event benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh, Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, Inc. and the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
The course begins on Ceape/Main and turns left on Algoma. The route continues past the historic Paine Art Center and Oshkosh Public Museum. It catches the Wiowash Trail, then heads south on the river-front trail to the Wisconsin Avenue Bridge.The final mile goes through the heart of downtown Oshkosh, catches the river trail behind the Convention Center and finishes inside the Leach Amphitheatre. The 5K course starts and ends at the same points as the Half Marathon.
Awards will be given to the first overall female and male winners in the 5K and1st - 3rd overall winners (female and male) in the Half Marathon. Age group awards will be given to the top 3 males and females in 5 year increments: 10 and under, 11-14 to 99 plus. Awards to the top 3 Clydesdale, Athena and relay winners.This event is part of the Aurora BayCare Series which offers additional prizes.
PERKSWe provide technically sound, safe, and exciting events. All participants receive a high quality tech shirt and a sport pack. Also food, chocolate milk, and fun after the event. All Half Marathon finishers receive a medal. Each mile on the run courses will be marked.There will be 8 themed water/replenishing drink stations available on the courses. Simple carbohydrates and Hammer Gel will also be provided.
Every Saturday from Jan. 18 thru April 5 at 7:30 a.m. at Planet Perk, downtown OshkoshOpen to all levels, from runners to walkers.Training runs takes place on the actual half marathon course increasing the distance of 1 mile each week. Runs starting with 3 miles on Jan. 18 going to 13 miles on March 29. Then a 4 mile run on April 5.
