Why You Should Run
The goal of Pets for Vets is to help heal the emotional wounds of military veterans by pairing them with a shelter dog that is specially selected to match his or her personality. Needy shelter dogs receive a second chance at life while giving our returning soldiers a second chance at health and happiness.

The Pets for Vets program is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training and pairing them with America’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.
Packet Pick-Up Policy
There will be packet pick-up on race day between 7am and 8am at Centennial Park.
How is the Timing Done?
We will be doing chip timing within the bibs.
Are there Medals for the Winners?
Yes, we will be having medals and trophies for different age groups; both men and women.
Bringing your dog?
Please use a 6' or shorter non-retractable leash.Make sure your dog has a current ID and rabies vaccination.Bring bags and make sure to clean up after your dog.Bring only Spayed/Neutered dogs that are 6 months or older.Do not bring dogs that do not get along with other dogs!Water will be available.

This is the second annual Capitol Nutrition Pets for Vets 5k. We are expecting 500 runners. We will be offering prizes, runner goodie bags, t-shirts and even a supplement sample bag for all finishers! CARA Emerging Race!
