Unwrapping Music: Great Songwriters & Their CraftIn this class we will study composers who mastered the art of combining lyrics with melody - from Romantic lieder composers like Franz Schubert to Tin Pan Alley masters like Cole Porter.
Examining tunes like “La Vie En Rose,” “Ain’t She Sweet,” and “Die Forelle,” we will look at how form, structure and the setting of poetic text create an emotional experience which make a timeless, beloved song.
