24-year-old Andrew Campbell already has an impressive sailing resume. Growing up in San Diego, Campbell was a regular at the yacht club from a young age. He sailed competitively in high school and went on to Georgetown University, where he was an All-American and sailing team captain. He was also named USOC Male Sailing Athlete of the Year three times.

Now Campbell heads to Beijing looking to add to his achievements in his debut Olympic performance. He joins Team USA representing U.S. Sailing in the Laser class. Before the Games, Campbell took some time out to tell Active.com about life as an Olympian.

What's on your iPod playlist?
I listen to ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" (PTI) when I go running, but mostly the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and the like.

What helps you unwind after a hard day of practice/training?
Calling home is usually the best thing to unwind. We spend so much time abroad training, it's good to check in with how the Padres are doing and how things are going at home.

What's one thing about being an Olympic athlete that would surprise most people?
Maybe the most surprising thing about me to people is that I know how incredibly lucky I am to have all the opportunities I have. No doubt I've worked hard for it, but the huge amount of support from family and friends and plenty of luck are the only things that make sure the Olympic dream can be realized.

What's a typical training meal?

A typical training meal is probably a Clif Bar. Seriously though, before sailing I'll eat cereal or maybe some eggs. And  then afterwards, just about as much pasta as I can eat.

What are you most looking forward to at the Games?
I'm most looking forward to being in the hunt for a medal. But also most looking forward to sharing that experience with my teammates, training partners and friends from other countries who've been pursuing it for these four years and beyond.
