Amanda Clark was 7-years-old when she started her sailing career in an Optimist Dinghy, competing at both the national and international levels. She shifted her focus on to the Europe Dinghy and, at just 15-years-old, became the youngest female to make the U.S. Sailing Team with a concentration in the Europe.

Clark went on to pursue the double-handed International 470 Dinghy and teamed up with Sarah Mergenthaler. The dynamic duo, known asTeam GO Sail, took home first place in the 470 at the U.S. Olympic Trials and will represent Team USA in Beijing.

Before the Games, Clark took some time out to tell Active.com about life as an Olympian.
