Jan.-March 2013. Get on your giddiyup and let's train for the 3rd Annual Mountain Marathon & Hillbilly Half Marathon. The half group is for you if you are newer to trails, newer to distance running, and can successfully run 5 miles on roads. Marathon group is for you if you want to know the course before you run it and can successfully run 10 miles on roads. The course is technical trails, the group will be much slower than road half and full marathon training. This is a great way to learn trail running technique and get to know the race course and see other beautiful trails the Olympia area has to offer. Training Groups include: race entry to the 2013 Mountain Marathon/Hillbilly Half Marathon, guided long runs in Capitol Forest on Sunday morning at 7:30AM, recommendations for additional training during the week, a trail running work-shop (technique, gear, nutrition, etc.), discounts on trail gear.
