About This Activity

5th Annual Teresa';s Benefit for Pancreatic Cancer

Date: Friday May 31st, 2013

Location: Olympia Resort - Oconomowoc

Time: Reggae Run start 7:00pm

Music and Party 8:00pm

On August 14, 2008, Teresa Krier lost her life to pancreatic cancer. She inspired

many with her positive attitude and contagious smile while fighting a courageous

battle. Her hope and humor gave others strength, even when she had none.

Teresa simply loved life. Her experience as a breast cancer survivor taught her

that life is fragile, so she squeezed every moment out of it. Her faith was strong,

and at the end she was at peace and ready to be called home, a comforting

testament to those who loved her. Through her illness, Teresa didnt fight alone,

finding strength in the support of her family, friends, co-workers, doctors, nurses

and other caregivers. She touched each of them in a way that was as remarkable

as she was.

* Pancreatic Cancer has a 96% mortality rate within five years of diagnosis

* 36,000 new cases are diagnosed each year

* Pancreatic Cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United

States, yet it receives little public attention and few federal dollars for

research.

Our desire is to honor Teresa and keep her memory alive by inspiring and

educating others, increasing awareness and working toward finding a cure for

pancreatic cancer.

Due to the generousity of many over the last 4 years, Teresas Benefit has

raised over $180,000 and donated to: The UW Carbone Cancer Center for

pancreatic cancer research, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for advocacy

of pancreatic cancer patients and their families, and to AngelsGrace Hospice

to help support their mission of caring for patients and their families. An

endowment has been established at AngelsGrace in Teresas name.
