Program Goals & Objectives:
The Greenville Recreation and Parks Natures Explorers Day Camp primary purpose will be to provide safe and fun recreational activities for children who have completed 1st-3rd grades. Focusing on four primary goals each day at camp we will do the following:
1. Assist each camper in reaching their highest potential during activities.
2. Improve camper's awareness of outdoor recreation, environmental education and natural resources.
3. Integrate the campers into the community.
4. Provide a safe, healthy environment for the children and the staff.
Transportation:
Children are transported to activities on vans.
Lunch:
Children will be required to bring a snack and drink daily.
Medication Policy:
If your child has to take medication during the course of the camp day, please be sure that the proper forms are filled out and
returned to the camp supervisor on the first day of camp. These forms are available at registration and at our Jaycee Park
Administrative offices (2000 Cedar Lane, Greenville, NC 27858).
Thursday Night Sleep Over:
Each Thursday the children return to River Park North for a cookout and sleep-over in the Walter L. Stasavich Science and Nature Center. Children arrive Thursday for the cookout at 7:00 pm and are picked up by 9:00 am on Friday. Each child will be asked to bring his/her own sleeping bag. Each group will also take a trip to Goose Creek State Park every Wednesday.
