Ready, Set, Run! is a program of the National Allicance for Youth Sports (NAYS) and is a character-building running program that trains kids ages 8-13 to partcipate in a 5k run (Dash for Cash on December 2 at the Town Common). This curriculum-based program equips kids with the physical training and goal-setting mentality needed to accomplish their running goals. Issues like enhanching confidence and self-esteem, respecting authority, dealing with peer pressure and fueling their bodies through proper nutrition are covered. Ready, Set, Run! is to help kids embrace life more through running.
Ready, Set, Run! will begin on Tuesday, September 11, 5:30pm at the picnic shelter at Bradford Creek Soccer Complex. Participants should come dressed in athletic attire and bring a water bottle to each session. Parents will need to stay the first night for a brief program introduction by GRPD staff members. Please note that the race entry fee is not included in the program fee for the Ready, Set, Run! program.
Each registration fee includes a NAYS Ready, Set, Run! workbook and t-shirt (fee for the race entry is not included in the program fee for the Ready, Set, Run! program).
