Half Distance Triathlon Training with MARK ALLEN

About This Activity

In this 90 minute workshop led by 6x Ironman World Champion Mark Allen, Mark will present all the essential elements necessary to put together your best half distance race (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run). Included will be a detailed explanation of endurance physiology, three key phases of training necessary to be fully prepared, the real truth about race day nutrition, what to expect on race day and how to manage yourself during the event.


ll triathletes can benefit from this workshop, but it is especially pertinent to those who are racing half iron distance events and looking for what they can do to improve and for athletes who are ready to step up to the half iron distance and want an understanding of what to do to make their first trip to the distance a great success.


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Attendees of this workshop will learn (1) proper phasing of their training; (2) how to be ready on race day and avoid burnout; and (3) how to overcome the challenges race day can throw your way.

Event schedule and times

This workshop takes place from 8:00am to 9:30am in the Film Room on the 1st floor of the Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence at Georgetown Prep.
