Untradtional Approaches to Encaustic (SSI)

About This Activity

This class will explore the process of creating encaustic media to be used in compositions of a larger scale. Working with encaustic will serve as a vehicle for gaining and improving skills, as well as physically exploring the different layers of the surface. Through the process of addition and subtraction, students will understand a new landscape of creativity. This class provides an opportunity for hands-on learning with expert advice from the instructor throughout the course.

Pavel Kraus holds an M.F.A. from the Art Institute of Chicago. Kraus has exhibited widely in Chicago, Washington DC, and New York City, and has collaborated on a number of international exhibits in Prague, London, and Lisbon.
